The Easter weekend is easily one long weekend that many times is quite welcoming. The surprising thing though is that just as the holiday begins before you know it’s over, you then start to wonder what you really did with your time and finally realize that all the things you planned to do are all still pending.

We both sat for a few minutes waiting for the attendant to approach us, he looked like he was counting money and doing some paper work. He saw us sitting down quite all right but did not deem it fit to ask us what we wanted. As part of customer service it seems like common knowledge that the next thing would be to render service to the next available customer. With not much time on our hands we eventually needed to shout out to him just in case he did miss our presence.

During my training sessions when I ask participants to practice proposing a toast, I notice that many are lost for words. They simply have no idea what is the right thing to say, whether the toast is at the beginning or at the end of the event. Many people see home as a place to sleep, wake up and get ready for the next day. It is not necessarily a place they look forward to coming home to but for the fact that it is a roof over their head. Your home is just the way you make it. For a woman you should have a place in your home or a specific room that you enjoy being in regardless of all the stress you go through day in day out.

They say in life that it is important to get along with people every day, everywhere, every time. “No man is an Island” we hear so often, meaning that we must endeavor to associate with others, create and maintain relationships. Given this way of life there is the challenge to please others no matter the cost. I guess in the corporate space the choices are limited you must please your boss, employees and colleagues.

The process should always be democratic, seamless without disorderliness or violence. However it is not unusual that something small can spark into something big or something disastrous. Caution must always be taken once in a public zone where temperaments  are wavering all over.
